What do we consider for acceptance into SHA?

Our overall goal is to have each student be successful at Buffalo Academy of the Sacred Heart. In order to achieve that, we consider the following for admission:
  • Scores from the High School Placement Test (Catholic High School Entrance Exam)
  • Final grades from 6, 7 and 8 (1st quarter or trimester)
  • Past standardized testing (when available)
  • Letter of recommendation - required

Missed Open House?
Request a private tour here.  Tours are offered weekdays between 9 am-  2 pm and last approximately 45 minutes.

Shadow Days
We welcome 8th grade girls to Shadow for a Day. Students will be paired with a ninth or tenth grade girl (either someone you request or who shares similar interests) and attend classes, go to lunch, meet faculty and staff, and learn more about being a SHA girl.  Sign up for a Shadow Day HERE.
Entrance Exam Prep Course - Fall 2025, Saturdays, 9 am -  12 noon, November 1, 8, 15.
This three-week prep course is designed to familiarize 8th grade girls with the Catholic High School Entrance Exam including test taking strategies in both English and Math.  The cost is $75 and includes the Peterson's review book. The Entrance Exam test fee will be waived for girls who take the Prep Course and Exam at SHA. REGISTER HERE.

International Baccalaureate Information Evening - Tuesday, October 21, 6:30 p.m.
Prospective families are invited to attend to learn more about the IB Diploma Program (IBDP).  The IBDP is a challenging two-year curriculum for junior and senior years.  Combining intellectual exploration with hands-on independent projects, the IBDP prepares students for college success and engaged global citizenship. Sacred Heart is the only private high school in WNY to offer this unique opportunity for your daughter.  Sacred Heart is also a candidate school for the IB Middle Years Program (MYP).  The MYP is designed for all 9th and 10th graders and will complement SHA's Franciscan values while providing enriched learning opportunities that extend beyond traditional classroom boundaries.  The evening will allow prospective families to hear firsthand from current IB students/scholars and faculty.   REGISTER HERE
