Providing girls with leadership opportunities is an essential part of Buffalo Academy of the Sacred Heart’s program. At SHA, Student Council is an active group of elected seniors who represent the entire student body. Elected underclassmen serve as class officers at each grade level. Stu-Co, as they are unofficially called, plans school events such as Spirit Week, organizes special projects with the Head of School, and represents the SHA student body on matters that pertain to the entire SHA community.

Student Council sponsored activities include:

Spirit Week
This long-standing tradition energizes the student body with a Student Council-sponsored week of entertaining events, friendly competitions, and spirit-boosting activities. Theme days, special assemblies, and costumes all lead up to the finale – the class karaoke contest.

Homecoming
This newest event to the SHA calendar provides students with the opportunity to show their school spirit and pride at fall athletic events along with theme days and an all-school Homecoming dance.

Christmas Dance
This all-school semi-formal dance kicks off the Christmas holiday and is a fun event for all who attend. Whether you go with a group of friends or a date, you’ll be guaranteed to dance all evening.

Daily Routines
Each morning Student Council officers lead the school community in prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance. Officers also announce birthdays, provide school news and promote current SHA events.
