SHA Welcomes TaNisha Fordham '05 Home to Our Auditorium

Buffalo Academy of the Sacred Heart was fortunate to host TaNisha Fordham ’05 following the celebration of All Saint’s Day Mass.

Born and raised in Buffalo, TaNisha is an accomplished writer, director, performer, and producer. She is currently a Directing Fellow with the Broadway Theater Coalition. Her credits include Associate Director, Andrew Lloyd Webber’s newest Broadway debut Bad Cinderella, and Associate Director, TONY Award-winning revival of Company.

TaNisha wrote 12 Mo’ Angry Men, a reimagined version of Reginald Rose’s 12 Angry Men. After a successful Off-Broadway run, the show has come to Buffalo’s Ujima Theatre Company. The adaptation is set in the present day. Eleven black jurors and one white juror deliberate about the guilt and/or innocence of a white police officer who shot and killed a 16-year-old black teen. Shows run from December 1 - December 17.

While in Buffalo for the production, TaNisha was excited to spend time with Sacred Heart's student body. She recalls, “Being in the Auditorium, with my classmates, was powerful for me as a student. I want to be in that space with the girls and be present for them.”

In addition to today’s presentation, TaNisha looks forward to connecting with our students in various ways going forward.
