Twenty-two SHA students participated in the Model United Nations Conference on Thursday, November 4, hosted by Canisius College. More than 200 students from 15 area schools participated in various committees and debated and proposed potential solutions to many of the world’s current issues. The SHA delegates prepared in advance to represent their assigned countries with respect to specific global issues including equitable access to vaccines in the developing world and the Internet as a human right. Participating students benefit from engaging in debates as they hone public speaking, critical thinking and conflict resolution skills.
