Enjoy a digital presentation of the 2022 Student Art Exhibit "Flourish"

A diverse array of high-quality art classes provides students with creative art experiences. Buffalo Academy of the Sacred Heart’s arts curriculum is designed to expose students to different mediums with a focus on the fundamental development of technical skills and creativity. In addition, the program develops a student’s appreciation and passion for art by studying artists and their masterpieces.

Courses include introduction to art, studio art, drawing and composition, ceramics, painting with watercolors, oils and acrylics, stained glass, iPad photography and advanced classes. Art classes include use of a wide variety of two and three dimensional mediums and learning experiences. Seniors who are interesting in pursuing the fine arts in college have the opportunity for a 1:1 portfolio preparation and review.

Our girls’ creativity is celebrated with continual themed exhibits both in the SHA Art Gallery and throughout the hallways and display cases. Senior art students exhibit their work in an annual show and are involved in the process and logistics of producing an art exhibit. Art students participate in gallery field trips, experience guest artists, and have the opportunity to exhibit their work in community based art exhibits and competitions.

All students can expand their art experience by participating in Art Club, which exhibits Franciscan values through community-based projects for the environment and the betterment of others, and the Art of Cosmetology Club.

Facilities include an art gallery (2015), two studios with beautiful natural light, two kilns, and wheels for ceramics.
