Remembering SHA in your will

Buffalo Academy of the Sacred Heart's Legacy Society recognizes those who have named Sacred Heart as a future recipient of a gift through their will. Sacred Heart Academy is deeply appreciative of the thoughtful generosity and consideration given to these gifts. By giving a gift through your will, you are providing for the sustainability of the Academy and investing in the education of future girls.

Tammie Lee Puszert Demler '87 sees a gift in her will as a way to "pay it forward"
"Sacred Heart means the world to me and the older I get, the more important my education and time spent at SHA becomes to me.
 
Sacred Heart teachers, staff and administration never persuaded me to think a specific way about the world, politics or religion—but instead and more importantly,  gave me a moral compass with which I now navigate through sometimes uncharted waters of an increasingly challenging world in which we live today. Who would have ever thought life could be more complicated than when we were the age we were in high school?
 
That said, I chose to “pay it forward” with my gift of bequest since MY SHA opportunity was only possible with a gift of tuition from my grandmother after my father's sudden death and the world of uncertainty his loss left me and my mother-both financially and emotionally. During that especially difficult time, I found the SHA community very sensitive, caring and concerned about my family circumstances, but even more importantly supportive and dedicated to ensuring my future successes.
 
While many alumnae give SHA ongoing gifts annually, my philanthropy had to be directed towards ensuring both of my sons’ educations and now my grandchildren…(all boys so far sorry SHA!) were well established! But regardless of the reason why you, I or others may not have be able to give gifts while we are still alive and well, all should please consider giving a valued future gift to be remembered and to “pay it forward” to help our future SHA alum who may be in need."
