Why We Love Uniforms Do you ever wake up in the morning after hitting the snooze button a few too many times, only to discover that you are running late and have no time to think about what you are going to wear to school? Wouldn’t it be great if, in those chaotic and aggravating moments, you already had an entire outfit picked out for you that you could just slip on and be on your way? And that’s just one benefit of wearing a school uniform! Besides saving a tremendous amount of time and energy each morning, school uniforms also allow our students to focus on who they really are. No more fussing over whether your clothes match, or whether they were bought at the right store – with uniforms only the person you are and the way you treat those around you is noticed! And don’t forget the cost savings! Our students typically spend $300 per year for their entire school uniform wardrobe. That’s much less than the $700-$1140 typically spent on school clothes for the average child attending public school in the United States. But what about self-expression? No worries! The young women
at SHA have yet to find any problems with wearing school uniforms
and expressing themselves. True self-expression cannot be
confined to one's wardrobe. By wearing uniforms, our students
learn how to express themselves through their actions, their
ideas, and their creativity. |
