Technology

In 1995, Sacred Heart Academy focused their commitment to empowering students to become productive members of an information-rich society through technology education. The Academy's technology curriculum is directed to building skills for success in college and professional life. Students develop strong skills in conducting Internet-based research, in developing computer-based presentations and papers, and in analyzing problems logically. Sacred Heart has newly implemented a graduation requirement of one full credit of technology coursework. This allows the student to expand her skills through various computer electives ranging from Computer Programming to Digital Arts.

In order to accommodate the integration of technology into our curriculum, SHA has designed a technology plan that allows for easy computer access and exposure to new technologies for our students, faculty and staff. With Internet access in every classroom, a general use computer lab and a computer classroom, modern computer software, computer access in the Library Media Center and many high-tech classrooms equipped with SmartBoards, our students have ample opportunities to develop the skills they need to succeed in today’s society. Technology staff, in collaboration with the SHA community, continuously reviews and updates the school's technology resources to keep current with technological advances and the changing technology needs of our students and the colleges they seek to attend.
