Kudos to the Cast and Crew of SHA's Spring Drama: "Steel Magnolias"

Congratulations are in order for the cast and crew of SHA's Spring drama, Steel Magnolias.  A big thank you is also extended to Director Terri Filips, from Niagara University, for the successful production.

Everyone in the audience became involved with the storyline which surrounded the close-knit circle of friends who frequented Truvy's Beauty Parlor in a small parish in modern-day Louisiana. Filled with humor and heartbreak, these "Steel Magnolias" made us laugh and cry as the realities of their lives in tiny Chiquapin Parish unfolded.

After Saturday night's performance, Terri Filips presented two awards:  "Excellence Back Stage" to Stage Manager Jackie Sosnowski and the "Copper Penny Award" for best actress to Claire Cannon who portrayed Shelby Eatenton-Latcherie in this year's production.  Claire is no stranger to SHA's stage as she was Anne in Anne of Green Gables and Peggy in Father of the Bride.  She plans to major in communications and theater when she attends college in the fall.

SHA English teacher, Nancy Brady, to receive Liberty Bell Award
