Sacred Heart Has 4 Swimmers at the NY State Swimming and Diving Championship Meet

Last year Alex Doody became the first SHA swimmer ever to qualify for the New York State Swimming and Diving Championship Meet.  This year Sacred Heart sent 4 swimmers: Junior Alex Doody, Freshwoman Aleza Epstein, Senior Caroline Niederpruem, and Senior Sarah Mastrandrea!!!!

SHA's swimmers had an amazing weekend at the State Meet held at the   ECC Flickinger Center.

The 200 Freestyle Relay team (Alex Doody, Sarah Mastrandrea, Caroline Niederpruem, and Aleza Epstein) finished 9th overall in the state with a time of 1:40.80!! They set a new school record of 1:40.78 with their preliminary swim on Friday, November 19.

Junior Alex Doody swam in the 200 Free and 100 Free races. She finished 20th in the 200 Free on Saturday, November 20, with a time of 1:55.87, setting a new school record and besting her time from the day before by almost 2 seconds. She finished 18th in the 100 Free with a time of :53. 78, setting another school record and beating her time from the day before.

Freshwoman Aleza Epstein swam in the 50 Free and 100 Butterfly races. She finished 15th in the 50 Free with a time of :24.75. She set a new school record in the preliminary race on Friday with a time of :24.53. She finished 18th in the 100 Butterfly with a time of :59.17 setting a new school record and beating her time from the day before.


The girls swam a great meet, setting 5 new school records, with all getting
personal best times in their races! WAY TO GO, SHA!!!
