Linda Cimusz is SHA's New Director of Academics

Sacred Heart Academy is pleased to announce that Linda Cimusz has been selected as its next Director of Academics.  Ms. Cimusz will start her position on November 1.

Linda's career began as a middle school teacher in the Syracuse area. She then served as a principal at the elementary, middle, and high school levels in the Syracuse City School District, where she also assumed roles as the Director of Staffing and Staff Development and then the Deputy Superintendent for Instruction.

Ms. Cimusz left Syracuse to become the Executive Deputy Commissioner of Curriculum, Assessment, and Professional Development for the State of Texas.  When she returned to New York in 1995, she joined the administrative team in Williamsville, where she was the Assistant Superintendent for Instruction for 16 years.  Upon her retirement from Williamsville this past July, Howard Smith, the former Superintendent in Williamsville, is quoted as follows,  “In my opinion, Linda may be the very best instructional leader in New York State.  She has challenged our thinking every day and is largely responsible for keeping Williamsville ahead of the curve.”

Ms. Cimusz has over 40 years of experience in education.  She is the product of Catholic education (5-12 grade).   Following high school she attended SUNY Cortland and received her BA in Education magna cum laude.  She received her Masters in Education from Syracuse University.

She has been an Adjunct Professor in the Educational Administration Department at Syracuse University and a faculty member at the SUNY Oswego Superintendent Development Academy.

Sacred Heart Academy is very fortunate that Ms. Cimusz, with all her experience and knowledge, has joined our community and will be leading our faculty.

She is anxious to meet our faculty, students and families.  Please make her feel welcome here at Sacred Heart!
