SHA Senior, Catherine Trzaska, Receives Manus Christi Award

SHA Senior, Catherine Trzaska, a member of Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament (Depew), was one of 13 youths honored at this year's Diocesan Youth Convention. Catherine received the Manus Christi Award (being the "Hands of Christ") for her dedication to living out the directives of her faith. Bishop Edward Kmiec was in attendance at the Convention and told the recipients and their parents how proud he was of them for stepping out of their comfort zones and dedicating time to explore their faith.
Catherine consistently demonstrates strong Christian values and outstanding leadership and has been an ardent supporter of the youth ministry of her parish. She has been a very active member of the OLBS Senior High Youth Group for 4 years as well as a religious education teacher, an altar server, a eucharistic minister, and a lector. She was awarded the "Bishop's Award" for being the most outstanding altar server at OLBS. She was also instrumental in developing the Altar Servers Training video which is given to all altar servers.
At Sacred Heart, Catherine is a member of the National Honor Society, an editor for the school newspaper and yearbook, a sacristan, a member of the Retreat team, a member of the Golf team for all 4 years, and a member of the Bowling team for the last 2 years. She also participates in numerous clubs. It is not surprising that while at SHA she has earned the Highest Average in Religion as well as special recognition for her Footprints hours.
