SHA Ranked #2 in Western New York by Business First
With the second highest advanced designation Regents diploma rate and a stronger academic performance than 99.7% of the schools in Western New York, Buffalo Academy of the Sacred Heart announces that Business First has ranked it #2 in Western New York.
In addition to its overall ranking, SHA received recognition in English, foreign languages, math, and social studies based upon its four-year performance, which placed it within the top 10% of schools in these areas. This year SHA ranked 4th in English/Foreign Languages, 4th in mathematics, and 4th in social studies.
Additionally, SHA's math teacher, Marcia Snyder was among the 20 educators celebrated by Business First for her teaching career and, earlier this year, Ronald Stepien was recognized as Science Teacher of the Year by the American Chemical Society.
Upon hearing the news, Jennifer Demert, Head of School, stated, "These amazing results are attributable to our dedicated faculty and student body. Working together as they do, there is no limit to what they can achieve."
These achievements have taken place under the leadership of Dr. Jim Dempsey, who took SHA from a ranking of #16 in 2008, to #10 in 2009, to #3 in 2010, and now to #2. He is to be commended for his steady leadership.
