Amy F., Class of 1992
Director of Victim Services (Domestic Violence and Human Trafficking)

"SHA helped to nurture the seeds of faith, service, and community that were planted by my parents.  These concepts were not simply taught in class, but lived out in the example set by my teachers and through weekly SHA traditions.  I know that any success I now experience in my social work career, community service, and most importantly in my personal relationships, has been influenced by my time at SHA."

Jen O., Class of 1995
Associate Program Director for Internal Medicine/Pediatrics Residency Program, Assistant Professor of Pediatrics and Internal Medicine

“I believe that Sacred Heart Academy provided me with the foundation to succeed in the many facets of my life: as a physician, wife, mother, and woman of faith.  A SHA education is more than what is taught in the classroom, it also guides young women in gaining the confidence, poise, work ethic, dedication, and concern for others that allow one to succeed in any career or profession.  Not a day passes that I do not look back fondly on my years at SHA and the priceless education I received during my time there.”

Elizabeth S., Class of 2007
Mechanical Engineering Student

Elizabeth credits her successful transition to college on “having the ability to handle the heavy workload and to manage my time efficiently all of which was developed through my years at SHA.  SHA has also instilled in me a religious and spiritual foundation that continues to shape me daily.  I never knew how comforting Sunday morning Mass could be when I was first away from home during my freshman year.”

Tammie Lee D., Class of 1987
Director of Pharmacy Services; Director of Psychiatric Pharmacy Residency

“SHA was the place where my love of learning and my drive to achieve the highest degree of personal success began.  Now mentoring others with these ideals has become one of the most rewarding parts of my job – whether communicating critical medical information on television or teaching my mentees in the hospital how to be the best pharmacist possible.  I try to exemplify the principles of what I learned from SHA daily—leading by example and respecting others.”

Associate Professor of Management and Organizations

"So much of who I am, my faith, how I think about and relate to the world took shape during my time at Sacred Heart. The way I was challenged and nurtured by the community of teachers and girls there had a profound effect on the person I am. In fact, I would say that it is impossible to separate the woman I am today from the experiences I had as a girl at Sacred Heart. For that and so much more, I will always be proud and grateful that I am a Sacred Heart alumna."

Kristen B., Class of 2001
Physician

“What I took from SHA more than anything was confidence in my intelligence and in my ability to succeed.  Sacred Heart definitely empowered me to go out and be whatever it was that I wanted to be.  When I graduated I had no idea what I wanted to do, but I knew that whatever it was I was prepared for what lie ahead.”

Alumnae and Friends

The connections that begin at Buffalo Academy of the Sacred Heart extend far beyond graduation.  Every year, alumnae and friends return to the Academy to attend Alumnae Sunday, Class Reunions, Sports Night, Spirit of SHA Scholarship & Awards Dinner, Sandstone, Memorial Mass, and other special gatherings.  Alumnae, near and far, also partner with the Academy in support of the spiritual, educational, and physical development of our young women as they serve as mentors, host interns, or speakers at Career Day.

The Office of Advancement, which is comprised of the Development and Alumnae Offices, is committed to serving our Sacred Heart Academy community.  We aim to keep our extended family of alumnae, parents, and friends connected with each other and the Academy. We strive to secure and develop the resources to support our students and faculty now and well into the future.  Through a variety of fundraising programs, alumnae events, and publications, we hope to share the good news of the Academy, foster relationships, and build support for this remarkable institution.  Alumnae and friends are encouraged to visit Sacred Heart often - whether personally, or virtually, through this website.

From this section, alumnae, parents, and friends can learn about upcoming events, keep in touch with one another, and become involved in Sacred Heart Academy today.  We invite you to share your time, talents, and treasures!
