Catholic High School Entrance Exam Preparation Course
October 17 - November 7, 2015: 9 am - noon for 4 consecutive Saturdays
This course familiarizes eighth grade girls with the content and structure of the examination and reviews mathematics, reading comprehension, grammar and vocabulary. The cost is $100 and includes Peterson’s Catholic High School Entrance Exam Practice Book.

Mother-Daughter Book Club for Girls in Grades 6 and 7 led by Lyn Biniskiewicz, SHA Library Media Specialist
Girls in Grades 6 and 7 (and their mothers/guardians): 2 - 3:30 pm
Four times during the school year: October 18, December 6, January 24, March 13
The Book Club will meet four times during the school year and read a new book for each meeting. The meetings for 2015-16 will be Sunday afternoons from 2 - 3:30 (October 18, December 6, January 24 and March 13).
The Book Club will meet in the Buffalo Academy of the Sacred Heart Library/Media Center, located on the 3rd floor of our school. The Book Club is free to all participants, but pre-registration is required.
After School Science Club for Girls in Grades 5, 6, or 7 led by Melanie Whitney, SHA Biology Teacher
12 Mondays from 3:15-4:45 pm: Begins October 19, 2015
This is a lab-based science club where girls will learn major concepts in science in a fun and engaging way. The club will meet 12 times on Mondays from 3:15 - 4:45 p.m. on the following dates: October 19; November 16; December 7; January 11, 25; February 29; March 14,21; April 11,25; and May 9,23. The cost to participate is $125 per student which will include 12 sessions, lab materials, and a snack during each session.
Practice Entrance Exam for 7th graders
March 5, 2016: 9 am - Noon
This is a great opportunity to become familiar with the format of the Catholic High School Entrance Exam which will be offered to 8th graders in November 2016. Girls will take all five sections in a test environment and receive detailed written results. Practice test is open to 7th grade girls only.
S.H.I.N.E. (She Has Inner Natural Excellence)
March 19, 2016: 8:30 am - Noon
Spend a morning interacting with your daughter in a meaningful and positive way while engaging in a variety of fun activities. The event will feature workshops in communication, movement, mindfulness, and goal setting. This is a workshop for mothers and daughters in Grades 4 - 7.

Registered SHA Freshwomen for 2016-2017
Each summer, SHA offers weeklong morning and afternoon half-day camps in a wide range of themes. Camps are packed with interesting information, fun activities, engaging experiments, and adventurous field trips. Summerspace is a great way to socialize with other girls who share similar interests. Past themes include art, forensics, crafts, lacrosse, cheerleading, science, service camp, fit camp, digital art, volleyball, drama, and music. A preparation course for the Catholic High School Entrance Examination and Leadership Camp are offered for girls entering eighth grade, only.
