Sacred Heart Academy provides achievement scholarships to its students through the generosity of donors including alumnae, friends of SHA, the Sisters of St. Francis, and past and present parents. Scholarships totaling more than $235,000 are available to the Class of 2019.
Scholarship awards are based on performance on the Catholic High School Entrance Examination, overall scholastic achievement, teacher recommendations, the scholarship application, demonstration of academic potential, proficiency in a particular area of study, financial need, or any combination of some or all of these factors. All scholarships, other than the SHA Scholar Award, are renewable annually provided the recipient is in good academic standing and demonstrates commendable conduct. Scholarships may be supplemented with financial aid to meet a student’s need.
To be eligible for scholarships for the 2015-2016 academic year, an entering student must be a first choice applicant to Sacred Heart. She must also take the Catholic High School Entrance Examination at SHA either on Saturday, November 22, 2014 or an alternate date. The student must also complete and submit a SHA scholarship application by December 1, 2014. To be eligible for a scholarship that considers financial need, the student must also submit a financial aid application by December 1, 2014. Notice of scholarship awards, other than the Oishei Foundation Scholarship, will be mailed with acceptance letters in January, 2015.
Sacred Heart Academy is committed to providing financial assistance to families with economic need and awards more than $235,000 in aid each year. Need is determined on an individual basis. Financial aid is awarded annually to account for changes in economic status, and therefore, families must reapply for financial aid each year. To be considered for financial aid, incoming families for the 2015-2016 academic year must submit an online FAST application by December 1, 2014. Notice of financial aid awards will be mailed with acceptance letters in January, 2015.
