Buffalo Academy of the Sacred Heart

Library Media Center

The Library Media Center is a state-of-the-art library and research facility.  Students have access to more than 6,000 books, 35 journals, and 20 electronic databases.  The Center is equipped with wireless, high speed Internet access and laptops are available to students working on school assignments and projects.

The Library Media Center was completely renovated in 2006 to accommodate this enhanced technology and to provide more suitable areas for study.  The Center is now composed of three rooms.  The first is a large quiet room for reading and study that is furnished with comfortable seating areas and well-lit workspaces.  A second room provides enclosed space for small group discussion and projects.  The third room is designed for presentations, library research instruction, and distance learning.

Throughout their four years at Sacred Heart Academy, students work closely with faculty and the library staff to develop research skills and the ability to critically review source information.  Upon graduation, students are well-prepared with the knowledge and research skills necessary to perform at the college level and beyond.
